We're On INSTRUCTABLES!

My DIY Werewolf Costume for Redd is now being featured on Instructables.  Not only that but it is also a contest entry into their Halloween Costume Challenge.  So feel free to check out this link:

http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Werewolf-Costume-A-Werewolf-Army-for-47/

Register for an Instructables account, vote for it by hitting VOTE in the top right, and then give it 5 star further down on the right side.

I'm proud to say that I've only got two Instructables on the site (the other one being the DIY Necronomicon) and they've both been featured.  Woo Hoo!

Being featured means they like you. It also means a bit more exposure for Redd.  Which is always good.

We're back into shooting tomorrow. Be prepared for some pretty nifty behind the scenes on our first Zombie FX for the movie.

Cooling Down

September has been a very welcome cool down. We've only been able to really fit in two shoot days for REDD, but at least it wasn't miserably hot. The rest of this month is about other projects, and then we'll be back at it in October.

If you haven't seen it yet, here's a run down of some of our latest video and a few pics we snapped off. You can see all of the pics and video we've posted so far on the other pages of reddmovie.com as well as on our Facebook page.

Quick Update for September

We've been busting our asses through out the month of August. September is going to slow down production wise for REDD, as I have to tend to that day job of making Ads.

BUT, there will be more updates through out September. Already posted some new pics of our first day with the bad guy SNOW, played by the awesome Alethea Delmage. Great working with her, and we look forward to getting the rest of her shots in.

Coming up, more pics, some new video, including a couple of production vlogs and your first look at Snow in action.

More soon!

Just Keep Swimming

Whoa. When did it become August?

Yup time flies when you're trying to make an indie film.

Yes, we've still been shooting.

And BOY! Is it HOT!

We actually cancelled a couple of days because of the heat.  And the last time we shot, it wasn't the heat, but the humidity that was killing us. It's like trying to breath underwater. Throw in some major car problems with some of the cast and crew, cameras over heating, rained out days, a vomiting cat, an exploding TV, and gear that just won't work, and you have yourself a typical day on the set of REDD.

So what's going on?  I will tell ya.

Been working on re-writes of the script. This is necessary when you're working on a VERY low budget. You have to sorta adapt your story to what your resources are, and since we've lost locations, gained locations, have to deal with cast and crew scheduling problems, then you just have to roll with the punches and re-write your scenes in a way that you can actually shoot them.

The full script has been overhauled, and now we've finally got the rest of the main cast in place.

Eve Butler will be joining us in the role of the holographic entity, RICK.

Alethea Delmage will be joining us in the role of the sadistic assassin, SNOW.

We're happy to have these to great actors on board, and we look forward to throwing them into the action.

We've got Production Vlogs coming up. We'll actually be doing them in the form of a weekly web series that will also be a How To/Moviemaking Show.  So you'll get updates on Redd as well as learn the process of how we make this happen.  It's been interesting so far for sure, and I hope these coming episodes will be just as entertaining as well as educational.

We've got three shoot days coming up this week, and then we'll be shooting all of next week and the week after.  Look for more updates soon.

The Heat is On

I'm currently getting my ass kicked. Both by my emotions and by the temperature.

It's very hot in my little office, even with the A/C on.

I think I should take a break from editing soon.

Emotionally, yes, I am getting beat up pretty bad.  I'm currently working the new Kickstarter campaign, and that means a new Kickstarter video. This one pretty much updates everything that's been going on since March.  Including those tragic events.  Which means talking about my brother.

I feel like I need to do it. I haven't really talked to anyone about my brother besides my wife. And in a way this is sort of therapy for me. Like somehow making this video will help heal me somehow.

But right now, I think I'm going to pass out. Yes the heat, but I also think I'm just emotionally drained.

Production wise, we've got major shooting to do in July into August, we've got fight scenes and fx work at the end of June. Other than that, the Kickstarter campaign is the only thing I've really worked on, the rest of my time is dedicated to that day job, editing video for other folks, but hey, I can't complain.

Alright, I'm going to drink something and possibly lay down in front of the air vent.

Much, Much more to come.

OH and check out the new concept art by Kelley Kombrinck on the official site. Click the CONCEPT ART tab at http://reddmovie.com, if you're not already there.

More later.

Feel The Heat

Who's bright idea was it to shoot this thing in the summer time?

Oh right, It was mine.

It's hot alright, one of the many perks of shooting this movie outdoors. And boy do I feel bad for our Heroine. April Crum has to spend most of the time wearing that thick red cape and hood.  Yes I'm doing this to torture her. But that's how I show my love.

The heat is starting to turn up production wise. Many more shoots to go.  A few obstacles to overcome, but there's nothing a bit of hard work and ingenuity can't get us through.

For those that didn't know, my brother Robert passed away last week. That has definitely added to the anxiety of production.  More specifics about all that on my personal blog HERE.

Thanks to those of you who have messaged me with condolences. I appreciate it greatly.

I promised him I'd finish this for him, and so I go to do so.  I think he would've really liked this one.

Believe it or not there is still a bit of casting to go through. But right now we're concentrating on our principals. Still a few supporting parts to cast and shoot, but we're gonna get there.  Our production timeline is moving along exactly on track. I'm so anxious to get this out to you all to see this.

In the meantime, feel free to continually check out this site for updates.  A production vlog will be coming up soon.

While you're at it, check out the newly re-designed site for our series MONSTER COPS.
