ADVENTURES IN SELF DISTRIBUTION

Now Available on DVD and Digital Download

After 4 years of work (More like 5 and a half years) it's strange for this to be a finished film and out on DVD. Going the self distribution route is going to take alot of work, but I'm confident it's the right path for our movie.  A dollar from every DVD and Digital Download sold is going to Cancer Charities. Right now we'll be donating to the Cancer Research Institute. This is our way of creating something while trying to solve a problem and it's something I am going to continue to do with each project we produce.  Do us a favor, check out REDDMOVIE.com, watch the videos, read about us, and if you feel it, make a purchase from our store. Support Indie Film and Cancer Charities.

Detailing all the ins and outs, the ups and downs, the tragedies and the triumphs that have occurred while making this movie has been therapeutic. Hoping other people can benefit from hearing about what we went through making this movie. The entire documentary will be released online at the end of the month.

PRESS RELEASE: INDIE FILM VS. CANCER

For Immediate Release

Patrick A. Prejusa - reddmovie.com - reddawesomemovieyeah@gmail.com

Indie Film Vs. Cancer

Grand Prairie, Texas-October 26th, 2015
Indie Filmmaker Patrick A. Prejusa has created an epic Sci-Fi Adventure movie utilizing old school Star Wars style special fx. Building model ships out of plastic bottles and designing giant werewolf costumes out of duct tape and cardboard, he has created an impressve movie that has already been an official selection at The Indie Film Fest in Switzerland and the Film Spark Film Festival.

Forgoing the traditional distribution route, Patrick has decided to ignore distributors and attempt self ditributing the movie himself. In honor of his mother who is a breast cancer survivor, a dollar from every sale of the film is going to Cancer Charities.

Just in time for Halloween, the movie, which features an Action Sci-Fi version of Red Riding Hood fighting Monsters, is being distributed digitally at reddmovie.com. It's being released Wednesday October 28th and will be available to purchase for download or to stream as a rental.

The movie was shot in North Carolina and parts of DFW, TX. and Grand Prairie and edited in Grand Prairie, TX. R.E.D.D. is a fantasy action adventure filled with horror twists, surprising comedy, and proper nods to kung fu, and sci-fi flicks. This is a low-budget flick made on a shoe string budget, financed through a very successful Kickstarter campaign. This is movie is the ultimate in epic indie moviemaking.

Sci-Fi Author John Davis calls R.E.D.D. "The Most Creative movie of 2015" and says that "R.E.D.D. is smart, funny, and well done from start to finish."

STILL ALIVE!!!

HOLY CRAP! 2013 was a heck of a year. Especially the last half. The REDD blog's last post was July 25th.

After that the updates just stopped. For that I greatly apologize. We kept up with a few updates here and there on Facebook, and I'd post an update on Twitter or Instagram here and there. But I failed to do full updates on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. I apologize for that and won't let it happen again.
Truth is since July life got turned upside down for me. I won't give you the full on sob story, just know there was alot of drama in my personal life, and alot of reality hit many of my crew for that last half of 2013. It happens especially when undertaking such an epic endeavor. We've continued to work post production for REDD and we've gotten alot done all the way til now, but we had to fight to really get to work on this thing.
Now things are back on track and we're able to concentrate alot more on finishing this. AND WE'RE SO CLOSE!!!
Right now we're still tweaking things in post and we're deep into sound editing and ADR. Still a bunch of FX shots that need to be worked on, but an end is actually in sight. I'm aiming for April to finally get this shown to our Kickstarter and IndieGoGo peeps and then the rest of the world later that Summer.
Here now are a few different updates I've posted on my Instagram over the past few months. I promise we'll be doing more frequent updates all over the place. On the blog, on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo, as well as on reddmovie.com which we're actually working on a complete overhaul of that site to prepare for the release of the movie.

Thank you so much to all of you who've kept up with us and shown your support. We greatly appreciate you and can't wait to finally finish this for you.

Hits and Misses

I've been editing video since before high school. I love it. I love manipulating images to tell a story. It's therapeutic for me. Like solving a puzzle or laying out cards in a game of solitaire, it puts me in a zone. Except here I get to express myself. Some people write in a diary, others talk to a counselor. Making movies, editing footage, that's where my therapy comes from, that's how I deal.

After my brother died I certainly had alot to deal with. And after the past couple of years filled with more downs than ups, I certainly had much to express. This was a tough one to work on. Took me about a year just because this was an emotional subject. But I felt like I needed to finish this one.

This is about the process of how I make movies, and about what drives me to finish this one.

Synaptic Light

Scratch what I said about 800 views. Since then we've shot up to 9200 views. Wow. And still the positive comments and messages come in. Thank you all so much. We've got a good pace going. I'm finishing up re-writes on the script for the Feature Film of REDD. I'm so very excited to shoot this. It's going to be a fun and unique movie experience and I can't wait to show it to the world.

Synaptic Light Blog was kind enough to do a nice post about REDD. Even squeezed some questions out of me about the behind the scenes.

CHECK IT OUT HERE. SYNAPTIC LIGHT BLOG.

Viral Thoughts

Thinking about REDD going viral. I've done the majority of what's on my list, and much of it has worked the way I thought it would. But we are nowhere near Viral. 800 views in a week isn't exactly viral, but I can't really complain when those comments and messages I have received have been so positive.  I thank everyone who's watched and done what they can to pass the video along.  You all are awesome.

A big part of going viral is having a good video (of course), and since so many folks think it is awesome then I'll just assume for now that we've got that down. Now we have to tap into the other side of social media. I've got it posted on Facebook and everyone I know posting on their Facebooks, as well as Twitter. But now I'm looking to score more views through other sites like DIGG or STUMBLE UPON.  Here's a list of the links to some of those sites.  You may need to register and log in, but any views, high ratings, good comments, and reposts would be a huge help in getting the video more views.

In Other REDD news I am in major re-writes for the full length feature film, and I must say, I am really enjoying writing this one. I'm very excited to see this movie made and show it to all of you.  It's going to be alot of fun.  I'm in a rush to get the full script finished, so I can figure out what the final budget number is for the feature, and then I can figure out how to get that money.

Now and Then

Welcome. This is the first post on what is the first official site/blog for Redd. This is where anything and everything about the movie will be compiled. All Videos, Blogs, Vlogs, Behind The Scenes, and Recent News about the production will be found here.

What is REDD?

REDD is a short film that we hope to eventually turn into a feature film. It's an Action, Adventure, Horror spin on The Red Riding Hood story. It's completely DIY, Indie, No-Budget. Meaning we're doing this out of pocket, from our own blood, sweat, and day job dollars, and no, we do not have anything to do with the new big budget Hollywood production of Red Riding Hood. Our version is an action movie. The main goal is to really display what me and my crew can accomplish cinematically with little to no money.

The concept came as a spoof idea. Red Riding Hood turning the tables on the wolf, then evolved into a deeper story set before a post apocalyptic background. Here's the basic plot:

"Set in a post apocalyptic future, 15 years after a large war has ravaged the majority of the US. A village, trying to re-build, is terrorized by evil creatures and giant beasts that now inhabit the nearby forest. A mysterious young girl in a red cloak wages war on the evil in the forest to save the village, using her wit, her courage, and whole lot of guns."

It is an adventure story with strong elements of Sci-Fi and Horror. I'm currently developing this story into a feature film. The script for it is nearly finished, and hopefully with the help of the completed short, we can help illustrate what the feature will look like, and get to work on putting out a feature film in 2011.

Here are the previous posts on REDD from my other Blog. Really shows you how much work I've put into it and how long we've been working at it.
